Celebrating its 20th year in ministry, the Scott Dawson Evangelistic Association is continuing to go where people are in an effort to spread the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. From students to senior adults, people of all ages are being introduced to the greatest Friend they could ever have – Jesus.
Scott Dawson is the founder and CEO of SDEA, which began with simple testimonials and youth rallies. Over the last two decades, SDEA has grown into an evangelistic association that reaches people through conferences, minor league baseball games, and even the internet.
The Lord continues to provide Scott and his team with innovative ways to share the unifying message of hope – the Good News of Jesus Christ. SDEA currently offers two Student Bible Conferences and a Senior Adult Conference in the Smoky Mountains.
Another unique opportunity SDEA offers students is Pathfinder Missions - a conference where they not only go through evangelism training, they actually have the opportunity to put what they’ve learned into action.
Scott and his team members are also traveling across the country in a partnership with Minor League Baseball Teams to produce an event called Safe at Home. After the last out of the game, fans have the opportunity to watch a full-size festival stage being set up in just 12 minutes. Some of the top Christian music artists and speakers then take the stage before Scott Dawson proclaims the Gospel message.
SDEA has recently started the National League of Youth Ministry, which is a program designed to “impact the impacters.” Youth ministers have the unique opportunity of working with students in a way that has the potential to change today’s culture. Youth ministers and their spouses put so much into their students and SDEA wants to minister to them. NLYM is a time for youth ministers and their wives to experience a time of encouragement and refreshment of their faith, their marriage and their ministry.
Since the internet has literally taken the world by storm, SDEA has created SharingTheFaith.com as a witnessing tool for web users. The site has a testimonial builder intended to provide Christians with a way to share their faith online.
At the heart of each of these ministries is the Gospel message. The very core of SDEA is helping people develop a personal relationship with Christ. Scott Dawson has a heart for sharing the message of Christ, which he has done for the past 20 years.
SDEA is based in Birmingham, Alabama, which is also Scott’s hometown. Scott and his wife, Tarra, reside in Birmingham with their son, Hunter, and their daughter, Hope.
